John 6    “Give a man a fish and he eats for 1 day, teach a man to fish and he eats for the rest of his days.”  We think too small.   Jesus is faced with 5,000 hungry men and their wives and children.  Some estimate 10 to 15 thousand people.   In the entire crowd there is simply one boy with 5 loaves of bread and two fish.   No worries!   Jesus is on site.   He came to ‘multiply.’   At the end of the day everyone was fed and they gathered what was left and there was much more than when they had started and everyone was satisfied.

In order for God to multiply what we have, we first have to be willing to let go of it and hand it over to Jesus.   He will multiply it, but we have to let it go!   Will you let go?   Of What?   Of, whatever you are holding on too so tightly.   God gave it to you in the first place because He wanted you to have it.   His primary purpose in asking you to let him have it, is not because He needs it, but rather because He knows how we are prone to take control and get comfortable.   Let Go!   Watch God do the Himpossible.

John 6: 10 Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there).  11 Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.
