John 11 a chapter of death to life.  Ok…so a kind of morbid thought:  The moment we are born we begin to die!   Death is a real thing!   Lazarus is dead, and Jesus comes days later, and raises a dead man from the grave and gives him life again.   Jesus is the resurrection and the life!    That said, tucked away in this chapter is a great principle that we often look over.

Darkness happens at Night.   People get ‘nasty’ at night.  Crime is greater at night.   People feel they can get away with more at night, when no one can see them.  So walk in the light of day.   Stay away from darkness, for it will cause you to stumble.

Light keeps us from stumbling!   We know that, but it seemingly is a bit more dangerous when we walk on the edge…when we ride on the fence.   NEWSFLASH:  This verse is a WARNING.   It is a GUARDRAIL that Jesus has put in our path to keep us from falling in the night.

Walk in the light as He is in the Light.   Jesus is the way the truth and the LIFE.    I love Psalm 119:133  “Order my steps in they WORD and let not sin have dominion over me.”

John 11: 9  “Are there not twelve hours of daylight? Those who walk in the daytime will not stumble, for they see by this world’s light.  10 It is when people walk at night that they stumble, for they have no light.”
