Chapter 17 is about unity, purpose and mission.   Jesus shares this incredible prayer to His Father with us….that we may be one as He and His Father are one.   Then he says, John 17: 18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.

We are the ‘sent ones.’    It really is not a choice.   We are sent by Jesus into the world to be about His mission.   Just as Jesus willing submitted to His Father’s will and was sent into the world to love the world and shed His blood, so sin could be forgiven and humanity restored to a right relationship with God, so we must submit to our commander in chief, Jesus.   He has sent us into ‘all’ the world to make disciples of every nation.   He has chosen to use us to set the captives free, and to bring hope to the hopeless and to share the love of Jesus to the overlooked.

We are sent but have we left our driveways?
