“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
    whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
    that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
    its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
    and never fails to bear fruit.”

Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIV

We are the tree. When we trust in him, the Lord, our roots are deeply planted next to him, the stream. The stream gives so much life that we don’t have to fear the things that would kill most trees, the heat. The heat brings death. Instead we are always green, we have life from the stream.  We don’t have to worry of the next drought to come, because regardless, he, the stream, is always giving us the water we need to bear fruit. In the face of what destroys most, the stream provides abundantly more. We are the tree deeply rooted in him, the living stream, and now we have life and no longer have to live in fear of what we did before…death from the heat.
